Your Express Card is a VISA check card; it looks and is accepted like a VISA credit card, but the charges are deducted like a check. Your Express card also can be used to withdraw money from your KPOCU accounts at ATM locations worldwide. You can use your Express Card to make withdrawals anywhere you see the following logos:
To avoid any fees when using your KPOCU Express Card at the ATM look for a machine that has the MoneyBelt, MoneyPass and Easystreet logos. The MoneyBelt logo will insure that you are not charged a non-local network fee by the Credit Union, the Easystreet and MoneyPass logo will insure that you are not charged a surcharge at the machine by the institution that owns the machine. For an ATM near you, visit the Easystreet listings or MoneyPass locator.
- When using your Express Card at grocery stores, gas stations or other merchants that allow you to swipe your own card for an authorization, select CREDIT as the payment type. Merchants will accept your Express Card as a credit card even though the transaction posts to your checking account. Your checking account number is encoded on the card so that the amount of purchase will be deducted from your account at KPOCU. You may also select DEBIT at any merchant that displays the Pulse logo; however, because this type of transaction posts as an ATM withdrawal, you may be subject to a foreign transaction fee imposed by the credit union.
- You can also use your Express Card as an ATM at locations throughout the world! The KPOCU Express Card is accepted at any ATM that displays the above logos. Look for the Easy Street logo when you're not using a KPOCU ATM to avoid a surcharge fee from the financial institution that owns the machine
